Earl C. Neuenschwander
August 14, 1912 - April 7, 2008
Memorial service for Earl C. Neuenschwander, 95, DeLand, who died peacefully at home Monday, April 7, 2008, will be 3 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand, with the Rev. Owen Stricklin officiating.
Mr. Neuenschwander was born in Berne, Indiana, lived in Indiana, and later moved to Hollywood, FL, then to Cocoa, before moving to DeLand in 1975. He went to Tri-State College in Angola, IN, and graduated in 1934. He was above all an entrepreneur. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served on the Horse Patrol with the Shriners in Cocoa.
He founded the N & W Oil Company and was later the CEO of Midwest Petroleum, both in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He later built homes in Indianapolis, Indiana, through Stoneline Homes and opened Metalco, a galvanized sheet metal business in Costa Rica. Most of all he loved traveling with his wife, Elaine.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Lynn Gettle, DeLand, and Bonnie and Joseph Perri, Orlando; grandchildren, Steve Perri, Vicki Perri Lowenstein, Stacey Anson, Scott Perri, Susan Way, Craig Gettle and Elaine Perri; great-grandchildren, Adam Perri, Ken Way, Ryan Perri, Nicole Heath, Evan Perri, Jill Perri, Brian Perri, Lindsey Lowenstein, Candace Perri, Christopher Perri and Allison Perri; and great-great-grandchildren, Robby and Dalton Heath. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine; brother, Arthur; and sisters, Mary Kay Shady and Edith Grile.
