Herbert G. Mathis

Funeral service for Herbert G. Mathis, 80, DeLand, who died May 10, 2008, at his daughter's home, will be 12 noon Tuesday, May 13, at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand, with the Rev. Keith Johnson and the Rev. Frank Clark officiating. Burial will be at DeLand Memorial Gardens. Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Mathis was born in Miami and moved to this area in 1992 from his birthplace. He was a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of Lifepoint Community Church, DeLand.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jesse Mathis. Survivors include his two daughters, Tina (Keith) Aldridge, and Traci (Chuck) Cole, both of DeLand; grandchildren, Brian (Lindsey) Coburn, Sara Cole, Emily Cole; and niece, Michelle Bailey.
