Albert
H. Gaede, 93, of Liberty Court, who retired as the owner and
manager of Florida Home Gas Co. after 25 years of service with
offices in DeLand, Sanford and St. Augustine, died Friday at
Ridgecrest Manor. Born in Pittsburgh, Mr. Gaede, an Air
Force veteran of World War II, came here in 1948 from Savannah,
GA.
Mr.
Gaede attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and was a member
of Volusia County Charter Study Commission, the Volusia County
Personnel Board and the West Volusia Board of Realtors. He was
a 54-year member of the Lake Beresford Yacht Club, a 57-year
member of the DeLand Rotary Club and was a past president of
both the Florida Manufactured and the Florida Natural Gas Associations.
He was also the founding director of the DeLand State Bank &
Trust and past director of the DeLand Chamber of Commerce. Mr.
Gaede graduated from Columbia University. He was a real estate
broker and commercial appraiser with Don Page Agency for nine
years.
Survivors
include his wife of 57 years, Mary, a son, Reed of Orlando and
a brother, David of Dayton, Ohio. Memorial donations may be
