Kathryn E. Shaffner

Funeral service for Kathryn E. Shaffner, 72, West Sidney Drive, Lake Helen, who died Saturday., October 20, 2007, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand with Chaplain Paul Farabee officiating. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand. Calling hours are today (Tuesday) from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shaffner was born in Asheville, NC and moved to the area in 1983 from Cherry Grove, Ohio. She was a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her sons, James D. Severt and Kenneth Foster, and daughter, Rebecca Jansen. Survivors include sons, Michael (Michelle) Shaffner, Edgewater and Richard Shaffner, Lake Helen; daughter, Kathryn Shaffner, Lake Helen; brothers, Raymond Severt and Roy Severt, both ofColumbus, Ohio, sisters, Arlene Underwood, Mount Vernon, Texas, Bertha Carter, Texas, and Mary Andrews, Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua Shaffner, Jennifer Shaffner, Ashlee Hodson, James D. Severt Jr. and Amanda Jansen; and special great-grandchild, Connor N. Shaffner.
