Ada was born July 30, 1936 in Portland, Maine to Herbert A. and Marion L. Stanley. At the age of three, her family moved to DeLand, Florida. She attended DeLand schools and was a proud alumni and graduate of DeLand High School Class of 1954. Ada attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Jacksonville, FL. After earning her nursing degree, she returned to DeLand and began her nursing career at Fish Hospital. She later served as a nurse for Dr. Collette, followed by positions with Drs. Copeland and Womble and later for Drs. Ouellette and Brooks. In 1979, Ada joined Dr. Jeffery Brooks in his practice until she retired 20 years later. As a OB/GYN nurse, she loved caring for the ladies who came to the office and they loved her.
In 1985, Ada married Jack D. Hallstrom. He brought so much joy into her life and he adored her. They loved boating on the river with their family and friends and staying at their lakefront second home in Hernando, FL. They enjoyed antiquing and going to yard sales to find treasures. Ada and Jack loved to travel together, too. Most of all, Ada cherished her family. She shared a birthday with her younger brother, Walter Stanley (sister in law Cheryl) and was thrilled when he retired and moved from Cincinnati to Daytona Beach Shores where is still lives today.
Ada was predeceased by her husband, Jack, her parents, older brother Donald Stanley, sisters in law Jody Stanley and Judy Stanley and great grandson Michael Hallstrom.
She was the most wonderful mother to her children she leaves behind.
