Listen to Obituary

I am heartbroken to announce that my grandma, also considered a mother to me, Anna Julia Valencia, born February 22nd, 1945, passed away in her home in Deland, Florida, on June 1st, 2026.

She was a Salvadorian woman with black hair, beautiful eyes, from Brooklyn, New York. She will always remain with that New York City spirit. She was a hard worker, a beautiful mother, the best provider to her three daughters and her son, who will always love her dearly. She was the greatest grandmother, a great-grandmother, and the best sister to her siblings. She was strong-minded, independent, a true warrior, a beautiful soul who helped so many people-neighbors, friends, and anyone who crossed her path. Julia was a Catholic woman with morals and values, always had good faith, and prayed for all of us.

My grandmother got to experience the best things in life. She also loved to garden; she had the best green thumb for gardening. She loved to sit outside, watch the sky, and feel the fresh air. She loved to be around family her grandkids, great-grandkids, daughters, and son. She loved to listen to music, she loved to dance, and she just always loved to be joyful.

She loved you all deeply, and in her words, she said, Family, we are one.' She will truly be missed, and we will all remember her with the best memories. Now, she is with the wonderful Lord, watching down on all of us. My angel, Abuelita Julia.
