Arlene Ruth Gall

Arlene Ruth Gall (Hansen), 95, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Deland, FL. She did not die, but broke of her cocoon into a new body. Now absent from that body but present with the Lord. Born on June 21, 1930, she was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School and spent her career working at Lincoln Supermarket and in the Open Pantry office in Racine, WI. She lived in Racine, until 2001 when she moved to Deland to live near her beloved brother, sister, and brother in law.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sophia (Peterson) Hayward Sr.; her first husband, Art Hansen, Sr.; her second husband, Richard Gall; and her sister-in-law, Nadine Hayward. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Art and Diane Hansen, Jr.; three granddaughters, April (Rich) Hansen, Autumn (Rob) McGuff, and Amber (Dean) D’Amato; and seven great-grandchildren: Austin, Anthony, and Henry McGuff; Delaney and Linus Hansen; and Sophia and Nico D’Amato. She also leaves behind brother Frank Hayward Jr.; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Dick Holden; numerous nieces and nephews; three stepchildren— Jody,Robin,Linda—and their families; as well as many special friends. 

Arlene had a deep love for her family and cherished her poodle Sadie. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, dealing cards, reading and travel. Her independent spirit was admired by all who knew her. 

A celebration of life will be held at Whisperwood Community in DeLand, FL at a later date. A private internment and committal service will take place at West Lawn Cemetery in Racine, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Alliance, Poodles and Pooch Rescue in DeLand, FL, or the West Volusia Humane Society. 

Arlene’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
