Arthur Lee Pattison, Sr

Arthur Lee Pattison, Sr., affectionately known as “Lee,” passed away on August 11, 2026, in Orange City, Florida, at the age of 80.

Lee was born on August 2, 1946, in Binghamton, New York, to Edward and Mary Pattison. In 1960, he moved with his family to Central Florida, where he graduated from high school in Volusia County and went on to make his home and raise his family.

Lee attended Mary Karl College of Workforce & Continuing Education, where he developed and mastered his skills in automotive mechanics and welding. A talented master mechanic, Lee had a lifelong passion for anything with an engine. He worked on race cars, raced on dirt tracks, and served as a crew chief during the 24-hour race for many years at Daytona International Speedway. Whether it was a race car, a motorcycle, a four-wheeler, or something that simply needed fixing, Lee was happiest when he was working with his hands.

That talent extended well beyond the racetrack. Lee loved tinkering in his garage and could fix just about anything. His grandchildren knew that if one of their toys broke, Papa was the person to bring it to, and he was always happy to get it working again.

Lee shared 62 years of marriage with his wife, Dian. Early in their marriage, the two enjoyed riding on his motorcycle together. In later years, Lee traded motorcycles for four-wheelers and loved riding with his sons.

Family was at the center of Lee’s life. He spent many years as an Assistant Boy Scout Master and took great pride in watching all three of his sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Some of his greatest joy came simply from being with his family, especially spending time and playing with his grandchildren, Nathan and Haley.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Pattison. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dian Pattison; his sister, Tricia; his sons, Lee Pattison, Jr., Tim Pattison and his wife Jennifer, and Michael Pattison and his wife Heather; and his beloved grandchildren, Nathan and Haley.

Lee will be remembered for his love of family, his remarkable ability to fix just about anything, his passion for racing and working on cars, and the many years of memories he created with the people he loved most.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when family and friends will gather to remember Lee, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived.
