Carmen Curry Emmons passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2025, at the AdventHealth Deland ICU.
She was Born on September 7, 1974, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Karen C Shea and Graham Z Curry. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic School in Deland and graduated from Taylor Highschool in 1993, where she was also a Cheerleader. She attended St Petersburg Junior College, and International Academy in Daytona Beach. She earned her Purple Belt in Karate at Modern Martial Arts Academy and sang in the Stetson Choral Union. She loved to spend countless hours with her family and friends. She also loved Painting, Scrapbooking, Theatre, Dance, Classical Music, Sewing Dresses for family and friends, Cross Stitch, Crochet, shelling at Sanibel Island, and RV Camping.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Emmons, of 31 years, 4 children, Ashley Echlov (Austin), David, Joseph, Julia; Her Siblings, Robin Colwell (Washington DC), Timothy Shea Jr. (Kate), Matthew Shea; and Parents Karen Shea, Timothy Shea Sr. (stepfather), and Graham Curry.
Carmen was a loving, devoted, and outgoing mother to her 4 children, and supported and mentored them in Music, Dance, Athletics, Scouting, ROTC, and Civil Air Patrol. Her favorite saying was, “Follow your Dreams and do what makes you happy.”
A Rosary with be held at St Peter Catholic Church in Deland, on August 4, 2025 at 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30PM, with reception to follow in the St. Mother Teresa Hall. Donations may be made to https://www.myositis.org/donate/
