Charles "Charlie" Ray Reeves, 88, of Deland, Florida, passed away May 22,2026 at his home. Born on April 6, 1938 in Andalusia, Alabama to Conley and Alpha Reeves. Moving to Deland Florida as a young boy where he made his forever home.

At age 18 he joined the Army in 1957 through 1959. He worked odd jobs always helping his Mother anyway he could. He worked for the city of DeLand doing tree work, this is where he passion began and he knew he wanted to do. In 1967 he began his own business "Reeves Tree Service". He serviced the community with pride for decades until just months ago. With his southern honesty and hard work he built the longest running tree service ever in DeLand, having so many loyal customers, businesses, and friends. This community was a much better place because of him.

Charlie enjoyed hunting, running dogs, boating, fishing, football and racing was a big passion for him. He also really loved the slot machines!!! Always happy to head to Biloxi, Mississippi! Charlie loved to ride in the woods daily with his beloved dog Zoey.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Conley and Alpha Reeves, brothers Don Reeves and Bob Lee, sister Millie Lindsley and daughter Sandra Reeves.

He leaves behind his loving wife Lois Reeves, children Larry Reeves, Brenda Reeves (Mike), Tammy Kesselring (Steve), Matt Myers, Gina Johns, Janice Hand (Billy) and Lorraine Warren. Also, like a son, Douglas Farris.

Charlie will be remembered for his kindness and southern personality, his hard and honest work that he provided to his community, and his generous heart for all of us he loved and all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at First Assembly DeLand (551 S Kepler Rd, DeLand, FL 32724) beginning at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to either the ASPCA or Humane Society in Charlie's name.
