Christopher A. Pfeiffer

Christopher A. Pfeiffer, aged 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026. He was born 10/3/1964 to his mother, Marcia Pfeiffer, and his father, Harley Pfeiffer. He resides in heaven with his sister, Shonna Peelor, and is survived by his beloved wife Casie Lea Pfeiffer and daughter Caitlin Pfeiffer Notz, his brother Sandy Pfeiffer, his sister Tonda McIlroy, and his best friend Shawn Porter.

Chris’s life was fully devoted to music. As a pillar of the music community in Central Florida, he was an unmatched sound engineer and an amazing drummer. The light of music surrounded him as he shared his expertise and enthusiasm with his family, close friends, and colleagues in the field. Words truly cannot express his musical influence – music wasn’t just an enjoyable rhythm and sound to him - he made music feel alive; a living and breathing being.

Outside of music engineering, he loved to collect vintage vinyl from his favorite music artists, tinker with woodworking projects, and watch silly dog videos on Facebook. He was also a massive foodie and an amazing cook. He regularly went head-to-head with his best friend, Shawn, on all-you-can-eat crab legs, loved slurping down fresh oysters with his daughter Catie, and cooking his wife Casie’s favorite foods and new recipes she would send him. 

Those who loved Chris are invited to attend his Celebration of Life 12pm Saturday November 7, 2026 at Lankford Funeral Home & Crematory, 220 E. New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida 32724.  Those who knew Chris knew that he hated dressing up, so this will be a casual event. We ask that due to limited parking spaces, please carpool if you can.
