Daniel Robert Willix

Daniel Robert Willix, 64, of Deland, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Born June 27, 1961, in Bainbridge, Maryland, he was the son of Robert Graham and Enid Arline (Duston) Willix.

Daniel dedicated over 20 years to his career as a truck driver, earning his Hazmat certification and traveling countless miles with skill and pride. Beyond his profession, he gave his time generously to his community, serving actively with DeLand Pop Warner for more than a decade.

A lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, Daniel never missed an opportunity to cheer for his team. He was also a devoted NASCAR enthusiast, especially enjoying the many trips he took to various racetracks with his son.

On October 25, 1986, Daniel married the love of his life, Myra. Together they built a life centered on family and shared adventures, welcoming their son Robert in 1990. Daniel is survived by his wife, Myra; his son, Robert; his brothers, Bruce (Luann) and David (Rita); his sister, Lisa (Jeff); and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Friends and visitors will be welcomed on Sunday, August 17, at Lankford Funeral Home in Deland, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, with a private family service to follow.

Daniel will be remembered for his dedication, his warmth, his humor, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
