Obituary

Diane Lynn Hunter, 68, of DeLeon Springs, Florida, passed away on December 14, 2025, in DeLand, Florida.

Born on September 27, 1958, in Broward County, Florida, Diane spent her childhood between Michigan and Florida. During the school year, she lived in Michigan with her mother, Donna Mae Neidermeier; step-father, Jim Neidermeier; sister, Carolyn; and brother, Steve. Summers were spent in Florida with her father, Kenneth Allen Rogers, and step-mother, Joyce Rogers. At the age of 15, Diane made Florida her permanent home, where she would go on to build a life rooted in hard work, family, and community.

Diane was known for her strength, compassion, and loving spirit. She worked part-time at a country store off Highway 40 in Barberville and as a dental assistant in Daytona. Through dedication and determination, she later acquired 16 acres off Highway 11, where she lived for many years. Diane eventually purchased DeLeon Springs Feed & Seed from her friend Tina Bisted, a business where she had previously been employed, proudly continuing its legacy. Diane was a dedicated supporter of DeLeon Springs Little League throughout the 1990s; generously supporting various charities and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.

Family was the center of Diane’s world. She married her husband, Randy Hunter, on November 19th, 1999 in a small ceremony on their property. Diane dedicated her later years to being a wonderful homemaker and inspiring renovations in their family home. She was deeply passionate about spending time with her loved ones and created countless cherished memories with them. Diane loved and valued her close relationship with her cousin, Kim Olin. She had a creative soul and enjoyed painting and landscaping with plants, bringing beauty wherever she went. Diane loved boating, traveling, and camping, embracing adventure and the outdoors. She had a special love for horses, owning and caring for them over the years. Diane’s knowledge and joy for these animals was evident to anyone who met her.

Diane was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Allen Rogers; her step-father, Jim Neidermeier; and her sister, Carolyn Butler.

She is survived by her loving husband Randy Hunter, her step-daughter Lindsey Hunter, her mother, Donna Mae Neidermeier; her step-mother, Joyce Rogers; her brother, Steve Neidermeier; her step-brother, Jeff Rogers; her step-sister, Jill Carvalho; and her extended family, all of whom she loved dearly. She shared a close bond with her family and treasured every moment spent together.

Diane lived life fully and encouraged others to do the same. She often expressed that we should enjoy every day and let tomorrow take care of itself — a sentiment that reflects the joyful and fearless way she lived her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Church of God (4721 Dundee Ave, DeLeon Springs, FL 32130) on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM.

Diane will be deeply missed by her husband and family. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, strength and unwavering love for her family and community.
