Elbert C. Herring, lovingly known as “EC,” passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in DeLand, Florida, at the age of 88.

Born on March 16, 1937, in Barnesville, North Carolina, EC was the son of the late Troy Herring and Ellen Hall. He later made DeLand his home and graduated from DeLand High School.

A hardworking and dedicated man, EC spent his career as a truck driver and was the proud owner of EC Herring Trucking Company. He was known for his strong work ethic and his commitment to providing for his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Orella Herring, and his parents.

EC is survived by his children, Jeanette (Andrew) Conklin, Rebecca Reid, William Herring, and James (Lisa) Herring; and his cherished grandchildren, David Reid, Kye Herring, Kory Herring, and Brittany Herring.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand, Florida, at a later date.
