Eric lost his valiant battle for life against glioblastoma on July 7th, 2026 after a very short illness. Preceded in death by his father, George E Kuhn, sister, Lisa Kuhn, and brother, Christopher Kuhn, he is survived by his loving wife Julianne, his "Jewel", his mother Helen Avery Kuhn and his sister Helene Grier (Ken). He is also survived by his beloved stepchildren Lindsay Newton (Tim Fields), Tyler Lee (Stephanie), Nicole Lee (Shea Lagarda), Alex Lee and David Lee. He is also survived by his 10 step grandchildren with whom he had a special relationship and a deep love. His stepchildren have always said how fortunate they were for having not not just one father, but two!!

Eric served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 until his honorable discharge in 1982. Having been deployed to Okinawa, Japan for 12 months he attained the rank of corporal, specializing in communications.

He will always be remembered for his love of sharing his knowledge and experience. If you spent any time with Eric you came away more learned and more confident. His love for sharing his passions are reflected in his stepchildren's ability to to salt water fish, grow a garden and cook like a chef, all the while tending to his family and preparing them for anything life could send their way.

Not least of all he will be remembered for his love for his family. From him we all learned the value of family. It was easy to see the immense joy that he felt from this giving and sharing.

He would always stand firm by his values. Doing the right thing can be hard, and in this world it can come at a cost. He would always pay that cost without a second thought. He believed we should take care of this world so it's splendor might be enjoyed by future generations. And he believed that we should take care of each other so we might have someone to share this world with.
