With faith in the promises of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we celebrate the life of Erwin Paul Woodworth, born on October 10,1942 in Beryl, W.V. Our deeply loved Erwin was sent to his eternal home on September 23, 2025.
He was the first born of twin sons to David and Esther Woodworth. First named Ronald Lee Woodworth, but after the passing of his twin brother, his name was then changed to Erwin Paul Woodworth. He was the second youngest of nine children and always treasured the bond he shared with his brothers and sisters.
He was a 10-year Veteran of The United States Air Force where his comrades knew him as “Woody.” He was the recipient of the Air Force Accommodations medal, and the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross for his service in Vietnam.
Affectionately known as Bud, he was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bud’s journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
Bud is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Woodworth, his 5 children, Bruce Bolly of Cicero Indiana, Shane Woodworth, Tiffany Alley, Brandie Daniel all of Debary Florida, and Kasey Woodworth of Bristol Fl. 4 grandchildren, Aaron Offenberger, Colton Sanford, Priscilla Rogers, Waylon Rogers, 4 great grandchildren, and his sisters Margurette High of Keyser W.V., Louella Vess of Chesapeake. V.A., and Darlene Pyle of Buckhannon, W.V.
As we grieve his absence, we take comfort in knowing he is now resting in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His legacy of faith and love will live on in all of us as we move forward.
We invite those who wish to celebrate his life to gather with us for a small service on Saturday, September 27th from 1:00 pm to 3:00pm, held at his home, as we share memories and reflect on the love he gave.
With arrangements by Lankford Funeral Home, he will be cremated and his ashes lovingly returned home to Keyser, West Virginia, where he will be laid to rest at Potomac Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or cards, and in keeping with his wishes, those wishing to honor his memory may donate to Westside Baptist Church in Sanford, Fl.
