Faye Stogner Gould, 92, of DeLand Florida passed away at her home on November 17th, 2024. She was born in Wadesboro, N.C. Faye was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She attended Wadesboro High School and participated in different areas of school life to include Secretary and Treasurer of her class, Booster Club, Beta Club, Monogram Club, yearbook staff and Newspaper Editor. For Senior Superlatives Faye was voted Best All Around, Most Popular, Best Dressed, Cutest in Class, Best Personality and Best Sport. In her 92 years all have come to know her by these very traits. She was on the girls’ basketball team and was head football cheerleader. During high school she worked at the local radio station. Faye attended Flora McDonald College, Red Springs, NC and received a business degree from Kings College in Charlotte, NC.
After graduation she worked for AAA in Charlotte, NC. While there she met her husband, the love of her life for over 70 years, Vincent W. Gould III. While Vincent was in the service she worked at Pee Dee Electric in Wadesboro, NC. Upon moving to DeLand she worked at Stetson University in the Alumni department. She was bookkeeper for V. W. Gould Insurance Agency and was a sustaining member of the Junior Service League.
Children: Karen (Allen) Murin; Vincent W. Gould IV, deceased; Stephen S. (Nancy) Gould; Gail (Dave) Nearing. Grandchildren: Chrissie M. (George) Aparicio; Erica Murin, Lauren (Jared) Lind; Jeffrey Gould; Sarah (Kyle) Stiemann; Emily Gould; Abby (Brian) Skoglind; and Scott Nearing. Great Grandchildren: Branton Strickland, Evie Strickland, Islay Aparicio, Lilyana Aparicio, Beorn Lind, Cirdan Lind, Nienna Lind, Julian Stiemann, Roland Stiemann, Leon Stiemann. Great-Great Grandchild: Blakelynn D’Aquino
Faye was welcomed into heaven by her parents Homer Stogner and Elizabeth Niven Stogner; brothers Homer and Horace Stogner and her son Vince Gould IV.
Faye enjoyed traveling… especially going on cruises, cooking, homemaking, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Family graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery on November 30th, 2024, at 1:30 with a memorial service following at First Presbyterian Church in DeLand at 3:00pm. Reception afterwards in the church Fellowship Hall.
Faye was the heartbeat of our family, and she will be missed so deeply. We are certain the heavens are singing with joy upon her arrival. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she is cherished and loved by all she met.
