It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon Marcel Hemberger announces his passing on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, at Advent Health in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Gordon will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Born on March 19th, 1947, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Gordon was the son of Charles Hemberger and Lucille Grant Hemberger. He graduated from North Penn High School in 1965 and proudly served in the United States Navy for two years before beginning a 37-year career at Merck & Company in West Point, Pennsylvania.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol A. Hemberger; daughter Maria Bujak; son Jonathan Hemberger; his older brothers Charles Hemberger of Waltham, MA, and Robert Hemberger of Lansdale, PA; and sister Yvonne Welsh of Harleysville, PA. He was preceded in death by his siblings Barbara Alley, Norman Hemberger, and Gary Hemberger.
Gordon was an avid golfer, a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions fan. He loved life and cherished time spent with his family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Butch, Polo, and Ruby Lu.
Memorial donations may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church, 751 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, Florida 32127 or to a charitable organization of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Lutheran Church, 751 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, Florida 32127, Sunday, February 8th, 2026, at 12:30PM. A luncheon will follow at Olive Garden, located at 5447 South Williamson Blvd, Port Orange, Florida 32127 in the Pavillion Shopping Center.
