Jeanette Hurd

Jeanette Arlene Hurd was born on June 23, 1934 in Akron, Ohio and passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025 at the Alliance Community in DeLand, Florida. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Max Hurd, on June 6, 1953 in Ohio. They were married nearly 52 years until his death (2005) in Florida where they retired in 1999.

She was the daughter of Albert and Dorothy Hill and had five siblings; Albert Hill, Katy Lockney, Pete Hill, Mike Hill and Glenys Armentrout. Jeanette grew up in Ohio and retired from the Tuslaw School system. She loved crossword puzzles, sewing and quilting, her time with Bible Study Fellowship, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three daughters, Renee Hansel, Melissa Harty (Thad) and Becky Pauls (Ted). She had twelve grandchildren; Bethany, Joseph (Shannon), Daniel, Katelyn (Blake), Nathan, Matthew (Katie), Samuel, Hannah (Matt), Garrett, Alexandra (Sophia), Rachel, and Olivia (Jeremy). Along with her grandchildren, she had nine great grandchildren; Adelynne, Eloise, Daniel, Owen, Margaux, Brin, Jett, and twins, Mason and Jonas. She was also preceded in death by her sweet grandson, Daniel, as well as her parents and brother, Albert.

Funeral arrangements will be held at Lankford Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m.
