John Loy Flowers passed away surrounded by his family on February 15, 2026, in DeLand, Florida. He was born on January 6, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Wallace and Helen Flowers. John spent nearly his entire life as a resident in Pierson, Florida. He graduated high school at Taylor High where he played football and baseball while working alongside his father in the family business, Flowers Fernery. After his father passed, John took over the business which he owned and operated until his passing. In his spare time, John enjoyed spending each fall hunting with his family in Kentucky and visiting with family here in Florida. John was known to be a kind, loving, and sincere individual, always the first to step forward and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. John was a cherished friend to so many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

John is survived by his mother, Helen Flowers, son Lawson Flowers, daughter in law Brittany Flowers and grandkids Annabelle and Luke who was recently brought into the world this past January.

The family is holding a private Memorial Service at Lankford Funeral Home. There will be a public Celebration of Life Reception at the Pierson Community Center on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 starting at 1:00 PM located at 124 W. Washington Ave, Pierson, FL 32180.
