Joseph Casanova, a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at Advent Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was 66 years old.
Born on September 23, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York, Joseph was raised in a close-knit Italian household, where the values of family, faith, and tradition were the cornerstones of his upbringing. These principles remained with him throughout his life and were most evident in the way he loved and cared for his family.
A proud patriot, Joseph served in the United States Army for an honorable 27 years. His military career was marked by dedication, discipline, and a deep commitment to service. He exemplified leadership and integrity in every role he held, and his impact resonated with those he served alongside.
Outside of his military career, Joseph found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, rarely missing a game and always cheering on his team with passion. He also loved playing bingo and poker, going on cruises, and spending quality time with his family—his greatest joy of all. Being a husband and father was not just a role for Joseph; it was his proudest accomplishment and greatest honor.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dale Casanova; his daughters, Marygrace Casanova and Kathryn Casanova; and his son, Vincent Casanova. Joseph's love and legacy live on through them, and he will be forever missed and remembered for his warmth, his unwavering strength, and the love he gave so freely.
