Joseph Frank Carbone Jr. was born June 12th, 1940 in Bridgeton NJ to Joe and Pearl (Pagdin) Carbone. Surviving, are his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Spelman); Three sons, Joey (Mark) of Cocoa, FL., Tom (Christina) of Lake Mary, FL., and Chris (Vikrant) of Chester NJ., four grandchildren Tommy, Simon, Olivia and Asher, a great grandson Bay and sister Eileen Best of Melbourne, FL.
Dad often spoke fondly of his carefree early childhood, riding the streetcars of downtown Philadelphia and exploring its many museums. He had a single set of parental instructions, “Be home for dinner”! Later, the family moved to Florida and soon began the building of many lifelong friendships including those forged at Cocoa High, the University of Florida and General Dynamics. After work related moves to San Antonio, TX and Salt Lake City, UT he and Nancy followed Tom, Christina and the grandkids back to Florida where retired in Barberville 20 years ago. He loved to spend his days pursuing largemouth bass, working in his vegetable garden and sitting on his dock reading the Wall Street Journal.
He was a person who always saw, and brought out the best in people. Asked about his biggest accomplishment – hands down, his children and grandchildren. Everything else pales in comparison. He will be sorely missed.
