With broken hearts and eternal love, we announce the passing of Joseph William Nester, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, faithful friend, and powerful voice in Christian music. Joe entered into his Heavenly reward on June 28, 2025, covered in prayer and held tightly in our hearts.
Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Joe graduated from Dickinson High School, where he began to discover his musical talent, not knowing that passion would blossom into a life-changing calling that impacted thousands across the nation.
Joe was the beloved husband of Faith Nester, his best friend and ministry partner. Together, they built a life rooted in love, purpose, and unshakable faith. He was the proud father of Kiley, Hunter, and Layla, and the deeply cherished “Bumpy” to two precious grandchildren, with a third grandbaby due on Joe’s birthday—October 11. A tender reminder that his legacy lives on and God’s promises remain even through the pain.
He was the treasured son of Rose and Bill Nester, and was preceded in death by his dear mother, Brenda Lee, whose memory he carried with him always. Joe is also survived by his loving siblings, Georgia and Mike, and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed by his presence.
Joe’s music wasn’t just sound—it was ministry. Several of his songs rose on the Christian charts, but more importantly, they rose into the hearts of those who heard them. His testimony of redemption and hope became a light to many walking through darkness.
He will be remembered for his authenticity, compassion, strength, and unwavering faith. Though his voice here is now silent, it lives on in his songs, in our memories, and in every soul he touched. We grieve deeply, but not without hope—because we know Joe is now singing in the presence of Jesus, reunited with loved ones, and fully healed in Glory. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
