Lucille "Margy" Green Gay

Margy went to be with our Lord on May 28, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Alliance Nursing Home, at the age of 95.

Margy was born on March 4, 1931, at home, in Miami, FL. She grew up in Allapattah with her sister, Evelyn. She graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1949, where she was an enthusiastic member of the Chorus & Glee Club, earning 3 letters. Margy always loved school and hated to graduate.

After high school she worked for Dun & Bradstreet. In September 1950, she married the love of her life, Jerry Gay. Two years later they started a family, raising 3 children together. Margy was an excellent homemaker and also enjoyed tent camping with her family. Cookouts and family get togethers were her favorites! She also loved animals of all kinds and took in many strays that her kids brought home. 

Margy and Jerry moved to Deland for their retirement. She loved gardening and working with her flowers and they both enjoyed NASCAR races. She also became very active in her church.

Her biggest joy in life were her kids, her granddaughters, and her great-grandkids! She was the best Mom and Nana ever and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Margy is survived by her 2 daughters Karen Worrell (Tom) and Cindy Houser (Wes-deceased), 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Fields (Roger) and Christina Worrell, 2 great-grandkids, Tiffany Potts (George) and Steven Fields, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Margy was predeceased in death by her husband, Jerry Gay, and son, Jim Gay, parents Verta and Ralph Ralph Green, and sister, Evelyn Cash.

Family and friends are to celebrate Margy's life on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 3pm at LifePoint Community Church, 1747 W. New York Ave, Deland FL, 32720.
