Mason Mikell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2026.
Mason was born in 1959 in Eustis and later moved to Crystal River, where he grew up, attended school, and began working alongside his father in the family-owned logging business. Mason was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to the family trade. In 1977, he married his first wife, Melody Mikell, and together they purchased the logging company, later transforming it into Mikell’s Landscaping Products in DeLand. Mason was preceded in death by his first wife, Melody Mikell in 2009
In December 2016 Later in life, Mason found love again with his wife, Sharon. They married in October 2021, a love that brought him great happiness and companionship. They moved back to Mason‘s hometown Crystal River and enjoyed boating and fishing together while spending time together with family on the water! Recently, Mason and Sharon have moved back to Deland, Florida to spend the rest of their life and time with their children and grandkids and family!
Mason leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon; his brother, Bruce; his sons, Jason and wife Jane, and Son Mason, his daughter, Gemma and husband Greg; his cherished grandchildren, Tucker, Braxton, Troy, Mason, Colten, Jemma, Tatum, Faith, and Trevor; and his great-grandchildren, Akyli, Kensleigh, and Shyla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Jeannie; his stepfather, Terry; his daughter Jamie, his brother Randy and his first wife, Melody Mikell.
There will be a Funeral service 12pm Saturday May 30, 2026 at Lankford Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 11-12pm prior to the service.
Mason will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the joy he found in fishing. His favorite color was blue, a fitting reflection of his calm spirit and love for the water.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
