Michelle Elizabeth Lemmond Whiteleather, 72, of DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2025.
Michelle was born on December 17, 1952, in St. Augustine, Florida, to Sam Lemmond and Elizabeth “Betty” Lemmond. She grew up in Florida and graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1971.
Michelle had a creative and nurturing spirit. She found great joy in painting, cooking for those she loved, and spending time on the golf course. Her home was often filled with the warmth of family gatherings, shared meals, and laughter.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Kenneth S. Whiteleather; her children, Kevin Whiteleather and Sarah Evans; and her sister, Teresa Lemmond Bland. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Buscher, who passed away in 2009. Following Karen’s passing, Michelle and Kenneth lovingly raised Karen’s two sons, a role they embraced with deep commitment and love.
Family was the center of Michelle’s life. She cherished being part of a close-knit family, all living within easy reach in Florida, and valued the time spent together above all else. Her kindness, strength, and quiet devotion will be remembered by all who knew her.
Michelle’s legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the many lives she touched.
