Nanette Wills

December 2, 1949 — May 31, 2025

DeLand

Nanette passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Advent Health in DeLand, Florida. She was 75 years old.

Born on December 2, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nan was the eldest child of Peter Procopio and Ann Procopio. She grew up alongside her siblings—Peter Procopio, Suzette Procopio, and Leo Procopio—instilling in her a strong sense of family and resilience that carried through her life.

A talented artist, Nan earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in New York. Her appreciation for beauty and creativity was a constant throughout her life. In her later years, she found a desire to return to painting, expressing herself with the same quiet strength and grace she brought to everything she did.

Nan’s generous heart was as boundless as her creativity. She was a dedicated volunteer at the local soup kitchen, always eager to help those in need. Though she lived simply, she never hesitated to share what she had, always believing she was fortunate and blessed.

She was also a passionate crossword puzzler, rarely leaving a puzzle unsolved, and she enjoyed cross-stitching in her quieter moments. Though her children didn’t inherit her artistic abilities, she proudly supported them in their sports and life pursuits, always their loudest cheerleader and most faithful fan.

On December 28, 1974, Nan married her husband, Thomas Allen Wills. They shared 50 years of deep love and partnership. She was a devoted and loving mother and stepmother to her children and their spouses: Courtney Bramblett, Jonathan Wills (with his wife, Jennifer Wills), Caitlin Wills, and Scott Wills (with his wife, Jill Wills). Her love extended even further as a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Jackson, Chase, Luke, Nile, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Deborah, Miriam, and Daniel, all of whom brought her endless joy and pride. Nan also had a special place in her heart for her granddog, a sweet collie named Gypsy—affectionately known as "Bitsy McButterpants.” Her family was the center of her world, and her unconditional love and support will be missed beyond words.

Nan will be remembered and celebrated during a Memorial Gathering at Lankford Funeral Home on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 1:00pm.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at Blue Palms Senior Living of DeLand. Your care and kindness meant the world to Nan and brought her—and us—great comfort.
