DeLand

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Rose Sclafani, who passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at Orange City Nursing Facility.

Born on June 15, 1943, in Brooklyn, Rose was the cherished daughter of Rosario and Providenza and beloved sister to Dorothy. From an early age, Rose’s vibrant spirit and generous heart made her a steady presence in the lives of her nieces, Jeanette and Marylou. Throughout their lives, she supported them with unwavering love, and in her later years, they lovingly returned that devotion, completing the beautiful circle of family care that Rose had nurtured.

A devout Catholic, Rose was deeply involved in the Church and her community wherever she lived. Her faith guided her, uplifted her, and shaped the compassionate way she moved through the world.

Above all else, Rose’s greatest joy was her family. She was married to her beloved husband, Tony, for 46 wonderful years before his passing. Theirs was a true love story—a partnership built on devotion, laughter, and unshakeable commitment. Together, they raised three children: Anthony, John, and Joanne. Being a mother was her calling, and she poured herself wholeheartedly into raising them, always active in their lives, church activities, and community events. She even served as a den mother for her son Anthony’s scout troop, a role she embraced with pride and enthusiasm.

A year after Tony’s passing, Rose welcomed her only grandchild, Anthony Richard Sclafani, into the world. From the moment he was born, she adored him endlessly. She was a daily presence in his life—loving, doting, and deeply connected. He remained the light of her life until her final days.

Rose loved life with a passion. She found joy in cooking, playing games, and spending time with family and friends. Music filled her home and her heart—she could listen to Frank Sinatra one moment and pivot to Maroon 5 the next without missing a beat. Her sense of humor was unforgettable. She once taught her four-year-old grandson the “Red Solo Cup” song just for laughs—and she found it so hysterical that it became her ringtone. Rose’s spirit was always bright, always optimistic. Even in life’s hardest moments, her glass was forever half full. To those who knew her, she was a light—warm, joyful, and unwavering.
