Roxie Elaine Zeman, 74, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born on September 2, 1950, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Roxie spent the majority of her life in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, before relocating to DeLand, Florida, in 2012.

A proud graduate of Canon McMillan Senior High School, Class of 1968, Roxie married the love of her life, Michael Zeman, with whom she had just celebrated 52 years of marriage on May 12. Michael survives her, along with their two children: Michelle (David) Cutright of DeLeon Springs, Florida, and Eric (Amanda) Zeman of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

Roxie was a proud and loving grandmother to Carmen Tyler of DeLeon Springs, Aimie Tyler of Pittsburgh, PA, and Cheyenne Snyder of Canonsburg, and a doting great-grandmother to Gavin Staten of DeLeon Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Catherine Johnston of Canonsburg, and her brothers Harold Johnston (survived by wife Joyce of Canonsburg) and Dana Johnston (survived by wife Jennifer of Washington, PA).

She is also survived by her brother Bob (Barb) Johnston of Canonsburg and sister Tracy (Dennis) Johnston Caruso of Elizabeth Township, along with many nieces and nephews.

A devoted homemaker for much of her life, Roxie later worked as a Shift Leader at Long John Silver’s in Canonsburg, where she was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and signature term of endearment—“sweetheart.” Her kindness and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Roxie had a lifelong love for all things Disney and took great joy in collecting Disney pins. She was an avid fan of movies—particularly Hallmark films—and followed her favorite stars with enthusiasm. Her deep affection for animals was evident in her many beloved pets over the years, all of whom she now joins in peaceful rest.

Roxie Elaine Zeman was a light in the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
