After going on many adventures in his life, on December 11, 2021, Sam W. Prather Jr. began the adventure that none of us have gone on – just a few short days before his 97th birthday. He was with Mary Ethel, his wife of 71 years, and family. In addition to his wife, he left behind three children (Ellen, Sam and Susan), four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, who are forever grateful they had so many years with him. Sam spent his life building. Building a family. Building a house. Building furniture. Building a legacy of honor and love and decency and kindness. With a twinkle in his eye and a kind word with an offer to help, and a genuine interest in others. He lived a long, productive life and will be missed greatly by his family, those he considered family, his scores of friends and all the lives he touched.
