Theresa Cleveland passed away into the presence of her Savior Jesus on October 15, 2025. Theresa Joleen Cleveland (née Siler) was the second child and daughter of Kenneth Elmer Siler and Audrey Lois Siler (née Veal). She was born on March 11, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband, Harold Wayne Cleveland, and sons, Christopher, Kendall, and Shane Cleveland, daughters-in-law Rachel Cleveland and Lavinia Cleveland, grandchildren, Samuel Cleveland and Noelle Cleveland, and siblings, Leigh Ann Buford, and Scott Siler. She is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Audrey, and her brother, Steve. Theresa (Terri, as she was known to her friends), was a loving and godly wife, mother, and grandmother, fervent in prayer and in the reading of the Word.
Terri received a B.S. in English Education from Central State University in Oklahoma, and a B.S. in Accounting from Florida Southern, where she passed the CPA exam on her first attempt. She used her training to homeschool her three sons and teach them all the way through high school. She also used her expertise to help her husband Harold manage their real estate companies. She was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word, someone who made a house a home through her intelligent management, hard work of her hands, and the deep love of her heart. She made life enjoyable for her family; her grandchildren loved coming over to “Grammy’s house.” She was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and a lover of the arts (including musicals). She loved to read and had a particular fondness for romance novels where virtue was upheld, and happy endings were assured.
But most important to her was her relationship with Jesus Christ, her personal Lord and Savior. She was raised in the Methodist Church, but realized that being raised in the church was not enough. She knew that she needed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She made a profession of faith on October 23, 1980, and was baptized at Delaney Street Baptist Church on December 1, 1985. Her faith in Christ did not waver, even until the day that she died. She is much missed by her family, but they rejoice in hope, knowing that even now she is safely in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ. “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” (1Jo 4:15 KJV)
