Hector Manuel de Jesus

Hector Manuel de Jesus

10/17/2022

Hector Manuel de Jesus was born on October 5, 1962, in Bridgeport CT to two loving parents and a caring older sister. He mainly grew up in Deltona, FL, graduating DeLand High School in 1981 and later graduating Navy Medic Training in 1985. He was asked by the Marines to join them as a corpsman, which meant going to boot camp a second time.

After serving for four years, Hector pursued a career in Nursing. As a Pediatric Emergency Department nurse in Jacksonville, FL Hector fell in love with a strong and beautiful trauma nurse named Irene.

The loving couple had two boys, Daniel and Andrew, who were both the lights of their eyes, and the bags underneath them.

During the hectic early years of raising children and working four 12 hour shifts a week, the couple attended a Christian marriage retreat where they decided as a couple to walk closely with Jesus.

It was the establishment of this relationship with Christ that brought Hector and Irene through one of their greatest challenges almost 8 years later, when Hector was diagnosed with a golf-ball sized brain tumor and given a less than 1% chance of survival.

By the grace of God, Hector beat these odds, and in 6 weeks he relearned how to walk and walked down the auditorium to shake the dean of Barry University School of Law's hand as he graduated. From then until now Hector had the privilege of being a loving husband to his wonderful wife, an incredible father to his two boys, a talented COO of then Florida Hospital DeLand, a successful co-owner of de Jesus Law Group LLC, and most recently the loving grandfather of his three grandsons Isaiah, Ares, and Gianluca.

It is impossible to say here all the incredible ways this one man impacted his family and community.

I can tell you this from the bottom of my heart, he was a kind and good man.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Spring Meadows Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sanford, Florida beginning at 5:00P.M.
