Jack Sprow Singleton of Deland, FL, passed away on July 10, 2021, at the age of 96. Born in 1924, in Wharton, NJ, to George and Madeline (Sprow) Singleton. He was preceded in death by Bebe Florence (Harding) Singleton, his wife of 59 years, and his two brothers, Robert Singleton and Jay Singleton.
He is survived by his son, Jack Harding Singleton and his wife Anne, Wellesley, MA; daughter, Jill Marlene (Singleton) Lazar and her husband Robert, Deland, FL; grandchildren, Robert Jack Lazar and his wife, Jenna, John Garrity Singleton, Charles Arthur Singleton, Michael Joseph Singleton; and great-grandsons Robert Jack Lazar, Jr, and Oliver James Waisanen.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was SVP of Fluid Dynamics prior to its acquisition by Brunswick Corp. After a successful buyout of their Technetics Materials business in 1990, he served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Technetics Corp. until his retirement in 1995. Jack was an avid golfer and longtime member of Deland Country Club. Always the engineer, he was an accomplished woodworker, fix-it man, and gadget maker. He always enjoyed a challenge. Jack used his success in business to give back to the community.
He was a strong supporter of Stetson University and supported numerous local charitable causes. His passing leaves his family sad but proud. They feel blessed to have shared in his wonderful life.
