Janet Joan (Kloss) Gray, 89, of DeLand, FL passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023 surrounded by her children. Janet was born on March 7, 1934 to Alfred F. and Anna C. (Cavanaugh) Kloss in Scranton, PA. After high school she studied nutrition at Immaculata University where she graduated with her Bachelors degree.
Janet met her husband, Tom at a family gathering in Allentown, PA. They were married June 23, 1956 and together they raised seven children.
Janet enjoyed a variety of art including; ceramics, doll making and oil painting. She wrote a children's book with two companion coloring books and she volunteered with several organizations and charity events. Family was very important to Janet and she made sure everyone gathered for family events and holidays.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tom and all of her siblings. Janet is survived by Janet McKenna (Mike) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Tom Jr. (Donna) of Davidson, NC, Kathryn Carlisle (Larry) of Montevideo, Uruguay, Jerry (Vivian) of West Palm Beach, FL, Virginia Slover (Todd) of Crawfordville, FL, Jennifer of DeLand, FL, Edward of DeLand, FL, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. A celebration of life is being planned for 2024.
