Nancy Paterson Spinoso passed away on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at home in Deland after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland Ohio on 07/18/1945, Nancy lived in NE Ohio until moving to Florida in 1993. She graduated from Hoban Dominican private school in Cleveland. While in her 20’s she was a product model/rep for Black and Decker and later became a figure skating coach in Mentor Ohio. After moving to Florida in 1993, she worked in sales for Bell South until she retired in 2002. She had a passion for outdoor and wildlife photography, and she especially loved the fall season and would travel back to Ohio every year to take fall photos. She also enjoyed searching for beach glass on the beach of Lake Erie and making beach glass art for friends and family. She was a long-time horse lover and had always owned horses, most recently, a Gypsy Vanner Horse in Ocala, Florida.
She was Married to Charles Spinoso, and she had three siblings, Joan Keefe, Ken Perry, and Bill Perry. She was a devoted mother to Cheryl Paterson (Willoughby, OH.), Patrick Paterson (Chardon, OH.) and Paul Paterson (Deland, FL) and a proud grandmother to Ashley, Lauren, Eli & Georgia.
She was a devout Christian and lived by the word of God and always encouraged others to focus on a relationship with Christ. One of her most shared scriptures was Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” It was her faith that provided peace and comfort in her final days.
