Robert “Bob” Joseph Ehret

Robert “Bob” Joseph Ehret

05/26/2021

Robert “Bob” Joseph Ehret born April 8th, 1940 in Canton, OH passed unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

Beloved son of Joseph Ehret and Dorothy Slutz Ehret, he is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Linda Lebel Ehret, his brothers Paul Ehret of Westfield Center, Ohio, and Donald Ehret of Columbus, Ohio; his sisters Shirley Hathaway of Columbia, MD, Mary Lou Szink of Canton, OH, and Charlene Salapack of The Villages, FL; a son, Michael Ehret of Midlothian, VA, and a daughter, Kelly Ehret Alexander of Louisville, OH, and numerous grandchildren and great-grand-children, nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Canton South High School, class of 1958. He was a general foreman for Hilscher-Clark in Ohio and a general contractor in Florida, where he owned his own residential home building company, Ehret and Welsh Builders.

After retirement he was able to spend more time on his true passion, planting flowers and vegetable gardens and raising lots of animals. Over the years, he and his wife Linda raised rabbits, chickens, turkeys, guinea hens, peacocks, and ducks. He turned 5 acres of field into a tropical paradise. He built the cottage and home himself, which they have resided in for over 22 years. He truly had a very green thumb.

He dearly loved the 3 dogs he had over the years and was heartbroken whenever he lost one of them, they were his best buds and kept the property well guarded.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and the many friends he made throughout his life.
