Steven Joseph Lai, 61, from Orange City, FL unexpectedly passed away on July 9, 2022, after a long struggle with dementia.

Steven was born on October 2, 1960, in Long Island, New York. He moved to Florida at the age of 15 and graduated from Deland High School. He attended Daytona Beach Community College and received his AA degree. He started his career as a Manager at IGA and then worked for Froze Fruit as the Southeast Regional Manager. He loved to play golf and rocking out to Jethro Tull.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jacquelyn Lai; his brother, Mark Lai; and his brother-in-law, John Walstad. He is survived by his sisters, Susan Walstad and Jayne Orme; Niece Ashley Elliott (David); Nephew Derek Walstad; Great Nephews, Maxwell and Braxton and his son, Jason Ian Lai. As well as many extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Family and friends are invited on Tues. July 19th for the viewing from 10-11 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, Debary, FL 32713, with mass to follow at 11 am. Steven will be cremated and laid to rest with his parents at Hollywood Cemetary.
