Adelaide Louise (Wood, Wilhelm) Paul died on December 31st at her home in Deland FL at the age of 96.

 

She was born Adelaide Louise "Addie Lou" Wood in Staten Island, NY on Nov 23,1927 to Paul Trenchard Wood and Anita Marie (Blanchet). 

She graduated from Sacred Heart (Maplehurst) Convent and School in NY. She worked in banking until marrying Vincent Louis Wilhelm. They settled in North Bergen NJ and raised 5 children together until Vincent died suddenly in 1965. She then concentrated on her children, and volunteered as Girl Scout leader and president of the Immaculate Heart of Mary School Mother's Guild. She was also active in St Joseph of the Palisades / IHM Church.

Addie found love again, and married Robert Joseph Paul. They settled in Allandale, NJ, and were active in Guardian Angel Catholic Church there. As empty-nesters, they relocated to Deland, FL. They were active in St Peter's Church. After Robert passed away in 1994, Addie volunteered with the Foster Grandparent program at Volusia County Schools and and was active in the Lay Carmelites and other church activities.

 

She is survived by sons Vincent Wilhelm and his wife Barbara and  Richard Wilhelm and his wife Marietta; daughters Mary Wilhelm and her husband James Naglieri, Anita Rhoulhac and her husband Robert, and Elizabeth Howard and her husband Johnnie.

Grandchildren: Andrew, Sarah, Joshua, Linnea, Jay, Renee, Duane, Kendra, Shelah, Darren, and Gregory.

Great Grandchildren: Audrey, Natalie, Katie, Michael, Emma, Jassany, Ronald, Jacob, Aumari, Destiny, Sarai, Barnabas, Tirzah, and,Keziah.

Great Great Grandchildren: Ava and Raine.

 

A Wake will be held on Sunday January 7, 2024 from 2:00PM until 6:00PM at the Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand, FL.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Monday January 8, 2024 in the St. Peter Catholic Church in DeLand, FL.  There will be a reception following the Mass in the Banyan Cove community room at 250 W. International Speedway Boulevard, DeLand, FL.

 

Burial services will be held in the Chapel of the Madona Cemetery in Ft. Lee, NJ on Thursday January 11, 2024 at 11:00AM. A luncheon will follow at a location that will be announced later.
