03/14/2024

Carl Wayne Oaks, 93, of Orange City, FL, passed away on March 14, 2024. He was born in Richville, NY, the beloved son of Carl Flint Oaks and Louisa Oaks.

After completing his education, Carl served his country with honor before pursuing his passion for physical education. He dedicated himself to becoming a teacher in this field. Wayne, as he was affectionately known, had a deep love for sports. He found joy in camping trips at Black Lake in NY with his family and embarking on ski adventures. An adventurous spirit, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf and he had a profound affinity for animals.

Wayne's enthusiasm for sports extended to his favorite teams, including the Yankees, the Celtics, and the NY Giants. His love for these teams was only rivaled by his love for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Roger) Poland of Holland Paten, NY, and Patricia (Nette) Oaks of DeLand, FL, as well as his sons, Bruce Wayne (Diane) Oaks of Holland Paten, NY, and C. Brian (Bonnie) Oaks of Turin, NY. Wayne leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, cherished by his 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold private services in NY at a later date to celebrate Wayne's life and honor his memory.

Carl Wayne Oaks will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered for his kindness, love, and unwavering passion for life.

Brian and family; my sincerest condolences at this time for your families. Coach Oaks had a great impact on us all. Making us better players and better people. I miss our high school friendships and was much appreciative of you and your dad coming to my dad’s viewing. Wish we could be there now! You are in our prayers!!
