Evelyn (Evie) Hammerle passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 unexpectedly. She is survived by her husband, Ernest, brother Edward and wife Marianne McChain, daughter Carol and husband Larry Hunter, son Daniel and wife Leanne Aldrich, step sons Todd and wife Stacey Hammerle, Adam and wife Tracy Hammerle and Derek and wife Michele Hammerle. Grandchildren Kirby Hunter, Adam Aldrich, Joe Hammerle, Andrew Hammerle, Julianne Hammerle and George Hammerle.
Evelyn was born in Peekskill, NY to Florence and Perley McChain. She graduated from South New Berlin High School. After retiring from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Evelyn and Ernie traveled the country seeing the sights and enjoying their favorite pastime playing and listening to bluegrass music. Evelyn was a talented seamstress whose specialty was making beautiful quilts. She loved her animals be they dogs, horses or cows.
A private family only burial will take place at the Pierson Methodist Cemetery on Tuesday, November 14,2023. A celebration of the life of our beloved Evelyn will take place after. In lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charity would be nice. Evelyn was always a strong supporter of 4-H and animal rescue programs.
