Madelon Sweat Kimball

12/22/2023

Madelon Sweat Kimball, born on December 24, 1941, in Jacksonville, Florida, peacefully departed this world on December 22, 2023, at her home in DeLand, Florida. She was the beloved daughter of Carly Sweat and Ola Hayes, and she grew up alongside her parents, her older brother Kenneth Sweat (Christine), and her twin sister Marcia Newman. Madelon attended Robert E. Lee High School and cherished her childhood in Jacksonville.

Throughout her life, Madelon was actively involved in various organizations that enriched her community. She was a cherished member of the Krewe of Amalee, the Junior Service League of DeLand, the DeLand Garden Club's Daisy Circle, and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority-Zeta Theta Chapter. She was also a dedicated member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, contributing to the healthcare field.

Madelon's passions and hobbies were as diverse as her interests. She found immense joy in caring for her grandchildren, Emery Enneking and Madelon Enneking, as well as her beloved grand dog, Charlie. Her collection of antiques and stained glass reflected her appreciation for the beauty of the past. Gardening and baking brought her endless satisfaction, and her unwavering support for the Florida Gators was a testament to her loyalty.

Madelon is survived by her loving daughter, Danielle Enneking, who will forever hold her memory close to heart. Her grandson, Emery Enneking, and granddaughter, Madelon Enneking, will remember her as a doting and caring grandmother. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Sweat, her niece Roxanne Gerbase (Paul), her nephew Lance Newman (Michelle), and many other cherished family members and friends.

Madelon was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marcia Newman, her husband, William Kimball, her father, Carly Sweat, and her mother, Ola Hayes.

In the words of A. A. Milne, "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." Madelon's everlasting sunshine, positivity, and her ability to see the best in family and friends will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Madelon Sweat Kimball will be held on January 20, 2024, at 12:00 pm at her home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude's Hospital, two causes that were close to her heart.

Madelon's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
