Marie Jean Moriarty, 91 of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away in her sleep on January 22nd at Advent Health Hospital in Daytona Beach. Mrs. Moriarty was born in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, August 5th, 1930, daughter of Michael DiGeronimo and Anna Quatrello DiGeronimo. Mrs. Moriarty lived in Fitchburg, Massachusetts most of her life until relocating to Ormond Beach with her husband Eugene in 2006.
Mrs. Moriarty graduated from Fitchburg High School, class of 1948. She met and married her lifelong love and best friend, Eugene Moriarty in 1953. They raised their two children in Fitchburg.
Mrs. Moriarty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. An avid cook, Marie was at her happiest when she was celebrating holidays with her entire family at her home as well as entertaining their many friends.
Mrs. Moriarty was a beloved mother and grandmother that will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Anna Quatrello, her husband Eugene as well as her daughter Theresa Moriarty Crank and her sister Rita DiGeronimo Brooks and brother Ralph. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Gene and wife Courtney Storm Moriarty of Ormond Beach, Florida, brother John DiGeronimo of West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, sister Ann DiGeronimo Pickette of Magnolia, Massachusetts and grand daughter Ashley Crank of Leominster, Massachusetts.
Arrangements in Florida will be handled by Lankford Funeral Home of Deland, FL. Mass and burial will be in Fitchburg, Massachusetts at a later time.
