Marilyn A. Graves

Marilyn A. Graves

9/29/2023

We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Marilyn A (Stefanchik) Graves, on September 29, 2023. Born on August 18, 1943, in Staten Island, NY, she was the proud and loving mother of Jeffrey Graves, Sandra (Ralf) Taylor, Edward (Shunna) Graves, Cheryl (Randy) Warren, and Steven (Beth) Graves. Grandmother to Sarah, Adam, Haylee, Tristan, Ethan, and Cheyenne. Great grandmother to Zailey, Abigail, Colton, and Athena.

Having resided in DeLand, FL since 1991, Mom’s happiest memories were of her house on Merrymeeting Rd in Brunswick, ME where she raised her five children. She taught them faith, the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. She was a true role model to whom we will always look up.

Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration and loved her family fiercely and unconditionally.

Mom was a HUGE fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Her competitive nature was infectious and fun.

Affectionately called Marilynisms, her quirky stories and jokes made everyone laugh and will be remembered fondly.

She is survived by her sisters, Virgina Stone and Phyllis Graves, of DeLand, FL, her brother, Richard (Butchy) Stefanchik of New York and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Roger Stefanchik.

Interment will be at St John the Baptist Cemetery on Pine St in Brunswick, Maine at a later date.
