Richard Cicero

01/13/2022

Richard Cicero, 77, passed away on January 13, 2022, in Deland, FL.

Richard Cicero was born in Hartford CT to Joseph and Rose Marie (Gionfriddo) Cicero.

Richard graduated from Maitland High School, Maitland FL in 1962. He studied Auto Mechanics and went on to join his brothers at Tobacco Valley Service Center in Windsor, CT. He soon after heard the call to Public Service and pursued a career in Law Enforcement, serving first the State of Connecticut as an Auxiliary State Trooper and then the Town of Suffield, CT as a Police Officer. Concurrently he found success in his passion for animals as a Hackney Pony Trainer. With his wife and children by his side he ran Rochelle Farm and then Cicero Stables for over 50 years. Retirement found him honing his meticulous creativity through Custom Golf Club manufacturing. He began his training in 1995 and soon founded Pin High Enterprises where he worked his craft until his final days.

Richard leaves behind his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Jean (Baldauff) Cicero. He will be dearly missed by their three children, Rose (Cicero) Hines, of Deland, FL, Richelle Cicero-Giroux, of West Hartford, CT and Richard Cicero, Jr, of Brooksville, FL. and their families. Kenneth Hines, son-in-law, grandchildren Lillie, Angie, Gabe and Kenny Hines, Dylan Cicero, Scarlet Ysasi, Adam, Benjamin and Rachel Giroux, great-granddaughter Naomi Cicero.

Richard was best known for his tenacity and conviction. He was outspoken and committed to excellence in all things. His greatest pride lies in his children and grandchildren who commit to honoring his legacy. In addition to his devotion to his children and beloved ponies, there was always a dog by his side. Annie, his devoted Jack Russell Terrier, is surely lost without him.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Deland FL on Saturday Feb. 12th, 2022 starting at 11:00 AM.

Memorial donations can be made in Richard's name to:
