Stephen Deceatur Hohenstein of DeLand, Florida passed away on November 23, 2023.


Steve was born on October 17, 1938 in Troy, New York. He was the son of Marion T. (Crogan) McClary and Stephen D. Hohenstein Sr., both deceased. Steve was the brother of George Hohenstein of East Green Bush, New York (deceased) and Guy Hohenstein of Clifton Park, New York. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Janet, sons Stephen (Vania Hohenstein) of Houston, Tx and Michael of South Daytona, Fl and daughters Anne Hohenstein Krout (Kevin Krout) of Port Orange, Fl and Sarah Hohenstein Brunell (Dan Brunell) of Debary, Fl. Steve is also survived by his grandchildren Jacqueline Barla (Justin Barla) of Fort Worth, Tx., Nicole Jarrell (Zach Jarrell) of Daytona Beach, Fl., and Nolan and Wyatt Brunell of Debary, Fl.


Steve was educated in the Rensselaer County NY school system and was a veteran of the service in the NY National Guard and the United States Air Force. Steve worked for 34 years in several General Electric locations as a field engineer and a technical writer. He is a retired employee of the General Electric Company, Daytona Beach. He also worked for and retired from Siemens Power Generation Company in Orlando.


A Burial will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 5 at 11am.
