Zachary “Zach” Robert Polans

Zachary “Zach” Robert Polans

9/9/2023

Zachary “Zach” Robert Polans, age 26, of Deland FL and Ormond Beach, FL, passed away September 9, 2023 in North Dakota. Zach was born in Tampa, FL and as a child moved with his family to Columbia, SC, Avon, CT and ultimately Ormond Beach, FL. Upon graduation from high school, Zach completed some college, but ultimately found his passion working with his hands. Zach apprenticed and became a skilled mechanic but found his true path in the drilling industry. Following a drilling career in Florida, Zach followed his dream of drilling in the oil industry in North Dakota. Zach truly thrived on a hard day's work.

Zach leaves behind his loving wife, Ryley and beautiful daughter, Lilly (16 months), adoring parents, Robert & Chrissy Polans, sister, Morgan Laurienzo (brother-in-law, Austin Laurienzo, niece, Luna Grace Laurienzo) mother-in-law, Patty McGowan, brothers in law, Hunter McGowan & Uriah McGowan, grandparents, Robert and Elaine Malkani, nana, Narlene Polans, uncle, Rob Malkani, aunt, Cheryl Polans, cousins, Alie, Evie & Solie Malkani and Danika & Zoe Estes. And too many friends to count. Zach was predeceased by grandpa Jerry Polans and Grandma Mary Delaney.

Zach lit up a room, every room he entered. He was intelligent and warm. His smile was infectious. Zach loved people and talking, and people loved him. He loved all his wonderful pets and every animal he ever encountered, wild or domesticated. Zach, Ryley and Lilly so enjoyed going to the dog park with their beloved pups, Jade & Peter. Growing up, Zach was a talented athlete and enjoyed playing a wide variety of sports- baseball, basketball, lacrosse & football primarily. As an adult, Zach continued to enjoy the outdoors and wildlife. Our extensive travel with Zach provided us with some beautiful memories. Beyond the pride in his work and the love for his entire family, Zach was gifted at making people feel special, truly listening and being empathetic.

After a courageous fight, Zach lost his battle with addiction. He was a strong, brave survivor of childhood trauma. You would have never known from Zach's inner light and beautiful soul. His entire family would like to thank the members of the recovery community for all the love and support over the years. Special thanks to Voyage Recovery Center in Jupiter, FL. We have heard so many stories of how Zach helped others, we want to honor his life by helping other survivors of childhood trauma. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Joyful Heart Foundation in loving memory of Zach Polans. Http://secure.joyfulheartfoundation.org/zach-polans

We miss Zach terribly. Our hearts are broken. His daughter Lilly will always know her daddy was a wonderful man. Rest easy Zach, we got you…

A celebration of Zach's life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
