Sara Elizabeth "Betty" Nesmith

Funeral service for Sara Elizabeth (Betty) Nesmith, 74, Hontoon Road, DeLand, who died at home Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in the chapel of Lankford Funeral Homes & Crematory, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand, with Dr. David Goodroe, pastor of Stetson Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ocala. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Lankford Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nesmith was born in Ocala and moved to the DeLand area in 1960 from Ocala. She was a member of Stetson Baptist Church and a volunteer for the Hospice League of Volusia. Mrs. Nesmith was predeceased by her husband, Lt. Quinton Nesmith.

Survivors include her sons, George H. Nesmith of Las Vegas, Nevada and John D. Nesmith of DeLand; sisters, Georgia Hunter of Ocala and Eva Morgan of Phoenix, Oregon; and grandson, Zane Nesmith of Las Vegas, Nevada.
